Vitara Brezza becomes fastest SUV to sell over 3 lakh units

Maruti Suzuki announced that, as of July 3, 2018, they have sold over 3 lakh models of their distinctive Vitara Brezza SUV. Quite a remarkable achievement, considering it was released just under two and a half years ago; it is now the fastest in the SUV segment to reach the 3-lakh sales mark. The simultaneously sporty and contemporary look played a large part in its appeal. Maruti also used the Brezza to introduce their revolutionary ‘Auto Gear Shift’ two-pedal technology and dual-colour tones to their SUV’s.

Truly a favourite of the Indian customer, an average of 12,600+ units/month have been sold in the last 5 months (a growth of over 25 per cent as compared to last year). The SUV also retained a market share of 43 per cent in its segment in 2017-18. The higher-end variants (Z and Z+) have, surprisingly, contributed to 56 per cent of overall sales, while the new AGS variant has contributed to over 23 per cent of fresh bookings since its release this past May. The SUV has also won 14 different awards, including ICOTY (Indian Car Of The Year) 2017 and Autocar’s Car of the year 2017.
