Vikram Pawah has been appointed President of BMW India and will take over from August 1, 2020. Vikram is currently the CEO of BMW Australia and New Zealand and will continue in that role while taking over India operations as well. Vikram is no stranger to this role — he joined BMW India back in 2017 as President of BMW India, before being reassigned to Australia.

Hendrik von Kuenheim, Senior Vice President, Region Asia-Pacific, Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa, BMW Group said, “Under the leadership of Mr. Vikram Pawah, BMW Group has successfully stood ground in a fiercely competitive environment and gained significant momentum in both Indian and Australian luxury car markets. As a priority market, India presents tremendous potential for future growth and development of the luxury automotive segment.”

BMW India suffered the sudden loss of Rudratej Singh with his untimely demise, and since then, Arlindo Teixeira, Chief Financial Officer filled in his shoes as acting President. Come August though, Vikram will take charge. Under his previous term leading the India operations, he oversaw a number of launches including G310 twins, 6 Series Gran Turismo, Mini Countryman along with the M3, M4 and M5.
