Royal Enfield Classic 650 design
The Classic 650 is built on Royal Enfield’s 650 twin motor platform and the motorcycle gets larger in all regards. The motorcycle also gets wider tyres. The Classic 650 carries forward the same mainframe as the Super Meteor 650 and the Shotgun 650 and gets dual seats, with the option of a pillion seat and rack removal using a single bolt-on mechanism. The motorcycle also gets a bright polished aluminium and chrome finish on the front headlamp unit. The Classic 650 continues to follow the post-war British motorcycle styling with a teardrop shaped tank and it gets a new LED headlamp along with signature ‘tiger lamps’ or pilot lights. The motorcycle can be had in a choice of four colourways – Vallam Red, Bruntingthorpe Blue, Teal and Black Chrome.
The Royal Enfield Classic 650 is powered by a 647.95cc in-line twin that produces 46bhp of power and 52.3Nm of torque
Royal Enfield Classic 650 engine
The biggest change on the Classic 650 is of course the engine, and the motorcycle is powered by a 647.95cc in-line twin that produces 46bhp of power and 52.3Nm of torque. This engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. Royal Enfield claims that this motor with its strong low-end acceleration will be ideal for quick getaways and confident overtakes, though only a proper road test of the motorcycle will help us verify this claim.
Royal Enfield Classic 650 suspension and equipment
The Classic 650 is equipped with Showa suspension at the front and rear, more specifically, with a 43mm telescopic fork at the front and twin shocks at the rear. When it comes to the equipment, the dash unit of the Classic 650 features an analogue console for the speedometer with an LCD screen with an odometer, trip meter, fuel gauge, service reminder, gear position indicator and a clock.
