The biggest, most powerful bike in the Pulsar lineup has been updated. The N250 now costs Rs 1.51 lakh and boasts increased capabilities with the help of USD forks, and wider tyres and is also safer with switchable traction control and ABS ride modes
You would first notice the new paint schemes and the new graphics. It comes in three paint shades called Brooklyn Black, Pearl Metallic White, and Glossy Racing Red. As before, the N250 gets LED projector headlamps. The bike has a 14-litre fuel tank which is the same as before.
In terms of chassis, the front now features 37mm USD forks replacing the previous telescopic forks. The forks come in a gold colour for the Pearl Metallic White and Glossy Racing Red variants and in a black colour for the Brooklyn Black variant. At the rear, it continues with a nitrox monoshock. The N250 now also comes with wider 110-section tyres in the front and 150-section in the rear. The disc brakes haven’t been upgraded and you get a 300mm disc in the front and a 230mm rear disc, with dual-channel ABS.
Bajaj has added switchable traction control and ABS ride modes. The ride modes are called Road, Rain and Off-road signifying each of the modes’ intended use case scenario. The bike now gets a Bluetooth-supported all-black LCD console which has features like turn-by-turn navigation. It also supports accepting and rejecting calls.
The powertrain is similar to before and the N250 comes with a 249cc single-cylinder oil-cooled engine generating 24bhp and 22Nm of torque. This is paired with a slip-and-assist clutch.
The price for the new Pulsar N250 is Rs 1.51 lakh which is less than a Rs 1000 increase over its predecessor. With the upgrades that the Pulsar has got, it certainly makes a good case for itself. As for the rivals, it goes up against other 250cc naked bikes in the market like the Yamaha FZ25, TVS Ronin and the Suzuki Gixxer 250.
