Triumph unveils the 2025 Triumph Speed Twin 1200 and new 1200 RS

Triumph has officially unveiled the 2025 Speed Twin 1200 and a new sportier version of it – Speed Twin 1200 RS. The range has got significant updates in terms of design and features. While the power has been increased, the bikes also get optimised cornering ABS and traction control.

Triumph Speed Twin 1200 design and features

The Speed Twin 1200 models retain the classic design elements that Triumph is known for while incorporating modern elements. The tank now features a more sculpted appearance, paired with a new flip-up filler cap. The side panels are also new, integrating with a new throttle body cover finished in brushed aluminium. Additional refinements include black powder-coated engine casings, a more compact silencer and new cast aluminium wheels. 

The round headlight is now an LED unit with a new DRL light signature. Behind it, sits the new LCD/TFT display with support for mobile connectivity. The handlebar has also been repositioned and now sits higher and further forward. The one-piece bench seat has also seen improvements, being reprofiled for better comfort and sportier styling. It is now narrower at the front. 

The range also gets optimised cornering ABS and traction control in addition to different riding modes – two for the Speed Twin 1200 and an additional Sport mode for the 1200 RS.

Both variants of the Speed Twin 1200 range gets dual-tone paint options.

Triumph Speed Twin 1200 powertrain and chassis

At the heart of the Speed Twin 1200 is Triumph’s high-compression 1200cc parallel twin, delivering 104bhp at 7750rpm and 112Nm of torque at 4250rpm. From the outgoing version, this is a 5bhp increase.

The chassis has received significant upgrades, including the 43mm diameter Marzocchi forks and twin rear suspension units, which now get remote reservoirs and preload adjustability at the rear. Upfront, you would notice new Triumph-branded callipers on the twin 320mm discs.

Triumph Speed Twin 1200 RS

The RS version is new for 2025 and it features sportier ergonomics, with a handlebar that is higher and further forward, along with rear-set footpegs and a raised rear end. The suspension setup on the RS benefits from Ohlins rear units. Additional features include Brembo Stylema callipers and Triumph Shift Assist – a first for the Bonneville platform.

The 1200 RS version gets Ohlins rear suspension, Brembo Stylema callipers and rear-set footpegs.

Triumph Speed Twin 1200 additional accessories

Like before, the range continues with additional accessories that enhance the look and feel of the bike. A cafe racer kit with clip-on handlebars and seat cowl is also part of these.

Triumph Speed Twin 1200 price and rivals

While the India price is unknown at this point, the Speed Twin 1200 will retail at £12,495 (~ ₹13.82 lakh) on-road in the UK, while the 1200 RS will be priced at £14,495 (~ ₹16.03 lakh) on-road. These models face competition from other modern classic bikes such as the Ducati Scrambler and BMW R nineT.
