After the Etios Liva, the Glanza is Toyota’s second attempt at the hatchback segment in India. The name Glanza comes from a German word meaning ‘Radiance’. The Glanza will be available in four variants: G MT, V MT, G CVT, and V CVT.
The Glanza shall only have a petrol variant. It is powered by the 1.2-litre, K series petrol engine which also powers numerous models in Maruti Suzuki’s portfolio including the Maruti Suzuki Baleno. In the G MT variant, the 1.2-litre engine produces 88bhp at 6,000rpm and 113Nm at 4,400rpm. Interestingly the V MT, G CVT, and V CVT get the same engine but down on power by 6bhp, which means these variants get the same motor but it produces 82bhp at 6,000rpm and 113Nm at 4,400rpm. The power is sent to the front wheels via a 5-speed manual or a CVT transmission.
The Glanza comes with plenty of features on the exterior as well as the interior. Exterior features include LED headlamps with DRL and Led taillamps, a two slat chrome grille, rear roof spoiler with high mounted stop lamps, electronically adjustable OVRM and diamond cut alloy wheels. The interior has a centre-mounted touchscreen display called the Smart Playcast with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, steering mounted controls for audio and calls along with voice function.
Safety features on the car include Dual front airbags, ABS, EBD and braking assist along with a reverse parking camera.
