Tata Motors has launched the Punch iCNG with a price tag of Rs 7.10 lakh. The Indian manufacturer has also updated the Tiago and the Tigor CNG variants, which now sport twin-cylinder technology for improved boot space than before.
With the exception of the 'iCNG' badge on the tailgate, similar to other Tata CNG models, the Punch CNG retains its exterior design without any noticeable changes. The Tata Punch iCNG features a distinct front end with the signature Humanity Line and a Y-pattern-designed grille. It comes equipped with projector headlights, fog lamps with cornering lights, LED daytime running lamps with a light guide, and Y-patterned LED combination taillamps at the rear. Body cladding, roof rails, and 195/60 16-inch alloy wheels highlight the exterior design. Just like the Altroz, the Punch also offers 90-degree opening doors for added convenience. The difference is in the boot space, where the Punch iCNG has 210-litres while the petrol counterpart has 366-litres. This space loss is due to the CNG tank taking up some boot space.
The Tata Punch iCNG's interiors are also unchanged. The interior of the Tata Punch iCNG has a dual-tone colour scheme that combines Black and White elements. The air conditioning vents have body colour inserts, and the seats have contrast stitching. The vehicle has a seven-inch infotainment touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. A semi-digital instrument cluster, a flat-bottomed multifunction steering wheel, and an engine start/stop switch are some features in the cabin. In addition, a standard-sized sunroof with voice command is available.
A 1.2-litre three-cylinder engine powers the Punch iCNG. The petrol Punch is powered by the same engine. When running on CNG, it produces 72bhp and 103Nm of peak torque, while in petrol mode, it produces 84bhp and 113Nm of torque. The engine is only available with a 5-speed manual transmission, there is no automatic transmission on offer.
The new Punch iCNG comes equipped with a range of features, including automatic projector headlamps, LED DRLs, and 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels. The vehicle also boasts a 7-inch infotainment system by Harman, offering seamless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. Additional features comprise rain-sensing wipers, a height-adjustable driver seat, a voice-assisted sunroof, a front seat armrest, a USB C Type charging socket, push button start/stop, a cooled glovebox, and auto AC.
The Tata Punch iCNG is available in five trim levels. The Pure variant, the entry-level model, costs Rs 7,09,900. The next Adventure trim is priced at Rs 7,84,900, which is Rs 75,000 more than the Pure variant. The Adventure Rhythm trim costs Rs 8,19,900, which is Rs 35,000 more than the Adventure trim. The Accomplished variant costs Rs 8,84,900, which is a Rs 65,000 increase over the Adventure Rhythm. Finally, the top-of-the-line Accomplished Dazzle S variant costs Rs 9,67,900, which is Rs 83,000 more than the previous Accomplished variant.

The Tata Tiago and Tigor CNG variants also get a minor update. The Tiago and Tigor iCNG now have twin-cylinder technology, which was first seen on the Tata Altroz iCNG and is also seen on the Punch iCNG. In twin-cylinder technology, a CNG tank is divided into two smaller tanks and placed under the boot floor to free up storage space. When compared to using a traditional CNG tank, which makes the boot space nearly redundant, this allows for more boot space. With this update, Tata Motors' CNG offerings, namely Altroz, Punch, Tigor, and Tiago, now have this technology.
