Tata Motors has launched the Nexon EV with a 45kWh battery pack, starting from ₹14 lakh. This is the biggest battery that the Nexon gets yet and sits above the 30 and 40kWh battery versions. The Nexon EV 30 starts at ₹12.5 lakh and the Nexon EV 40 starts at ₹14.6 lakh, the entry price of 45 is lower than the 40 as it is available in the entry Creative variant, whereas the 40 is available only from the Fearless variant.

Along with this, the top variant of the Nexon EV – Empowered+ 45 now also gets a Red Dark version with visual changes. The Dark variant costs ₹17.2 lakh ex-showroom.

Tata Nexon EV range and power

The additional 5kWh gives the Nexon EV an added range of 100km over the 40 version, taking the ARAI claimed range to 489km. The C75 range (real-world range) is now between 350 and 370km. The 40kWh battery has a C75 range of 290-310km. In addition to this, the energy density in the battery has increased by 8 per cent and the cell utilisation improves by 45 per cent. Apart from the higher range, this aids in reducing the charging time by 29 per cent. Now 15 minutes of charge can give the Nexon EV a range of 130km.

The Nexon EV 45 makes 148bhp, a 5bhp jump from the Nexon EV 40. The torque figure remains the same at 215Nm and so does the 0-100kmph in 8.9 seconds. The top speed is limited to 150kmph.

Tata Nexon EV features and safety

The Nexon EV 45 now gets disc brakes all-round, 6 airbags, ESP and an electronic parking brake with auto-hold as standard across variants. In addition to this, based on the variant you choose, features available are voice activated panoramic sunroof, a frunk for storage, a 360-degree camera with blind spot monitor, ventilated seats, wireless phone charger, rain-sensing wipers, auto headlamps, rear AC vents, digital instrument cluster with maps integration, wireless Android Auto and Apple Carplay, 12.3-inch infotainment screen and more.

The seats too are Red Dark themed with a #Dark embroidery on the headrest in red colour.

The seats in the Red Dark edition come with red themed seats with #Dark embroidery.

Tata Nexon EV price and rivals
