Suzuki V-Strom 800DE launched in India at Rs 10.30 lakh

Suzuki Motorcycle India has launched the Suzuki V-Strom 800DE, Suzuki’s third higher-capacity bike in India other than the Hayabusa and the Katana. The introductory price is set at Rs 10.30 lakh and it comes in three colours with a long list of features.

Suzuki V-Strom 800DE design and features

The Suzuki V-Strom 800DE has a familiar design characterised by its iconic ‘beak’ which has now been positioned higher. There is a vertically stacked pair of hexagonal LED headlights, along with position lighting in front of the 3-step adjustable windshield. The motorcycle features a 5-inch colour TFT display with night and day modes and is also equipped with solid grab bars on each side. The bike runs on a 21-inch front and 17-inch rear tyre wrapped in Dunlop tyres.

The bike gets features like multiple ride modes, traction control, ride-by-wire, bi-directional quickshifter and ABS.

Suzuki V-Strom 800DE chassis and suspension

The chassis of the V-Strom 800DE is constructed with a new steel frame, claimed to provide increased strength for rough trails and ensure straight-line stability. It gets Showa inverted front forks with 220mm wheel travel and a rear Showa monoshock with an adjustable spring preload. Furthermore, the motorcycle features a ground clearance of 220mm, the tallest among all V-Strom models, along with 310mm dual front discs for braking.

Suzuki V-Strom 800DE powertrain

Powering the Suzuki V-Strom 800DE is a newly developed 776cc parallel-twin DOHC engine, with a 270-degree crankshaft and making 82bhp and 78Nm. The patented Suzuki Cross Balancer system is claimed to suppress vibration and enhance the motorcycle's handling. The V-Strom 800DE is equipped with a 2-into-1 exhaust system with a dual-stage catalytic converter, and a Suzuki clutch assist system.

Suzuki V-Strom 800DE price and rivals

The Suzuki V-Strom 800DE is available in three captivating colours Champion Yellow No. 2, Glass Mat Mechanical Gray, and Glass Sparkle Black. The motorcycle is offered at a limited period introductory price of Rs 10.30 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). It goes up against other middle weight adventure tourers like the Triumph Tiger 900 and Honda Africa Twin.
