In 2009, Porsche surprised the automobile industry with a sports car in disguise of a luxury saloon. Sporting four doors, four seats, a coupe roofline and performance figures of a two-door sports car, the Porsche Panamera was launched. Now, Porsche India is celebrating 10 years of the four-door by launching the Panamera 4 10 Years Edition, at Rs 1.6 crore, ex-showroom. The special edition features additional equipment, and subtle styling highlights, to set it apart from the standard Panamera.

The easiest way to identify the 10 Years Edition are the 20-inch satin-gloss white gold metallic wheels. It also gets white gold metallic ‘Panamera10’ logos on the front doors, door entry guards as well as the front passenger trim panel. Black partial leather is used throughout the interior, complemented by decorative stitching in white gold on the dashboard, door trims and centre console.

Apart from the signature elements, the Panamera 4 10 Years Edition gets LED matrix headlights including PDLS Plus (Porsche dynamic light system) as standard. That said, it continues to feature lane change assist, park assist including a reversing camera, panoramic sunroof, 14-way adjustable seats, soft-close doors, digital radio and BOSE surround sound system among many others premium features.

The Panamera 4 10 Years Edition also features adaptive three-chamber air suspension, including Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) and power steering plus as standard. The all-wheel drive Panamera 4 is powered by a 2.9-litre, biturbo V6-engine developing 325bhp and 450Nm of torque. The Panamera accelerates to 100kmph in just 5.3 seconds and goes on to achieve a top speed of 262kmph.

On the special edition launch, Pavan Shetty, director, Porsche India, commented, “With more than 250,000 Panamera cars delivered around the world since its launch, our luxury saloon has established itself as a coveted model in the last decade. The new Panamera 4 10 Years Edition represents this remarkable achievement. In a market where many luxury vehicles are chauffeur driven, it’s rewarding for me to see the Panamera remains as the only prestige saloon in our market which is focused equally towards the driver as well as its passengers. It’s a true sports car for the drive to the office and fun on the track.”
