Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV launched in India at Rs 2.25 crore

The EQS SUV is the first-ever electric Maybach and would sit at the higher end of the Mercedes India lineup

The Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV has debuted in India. Priced at Rs 2.25 crore, the first-ever electric Maybach boasts of a dual-motor setup and offers an impressive WLTP-claimed range of 611km, making it a compelling choice for the super rich.

The EQS SUV sports a distinctive black panel radiator shell adorned with vertical pinstripes. The air inlet grilles feature Maybach logo patterns, adding to the design. The headlights boast a million pixels each, with standard ‘Digital Light’ headlights and a special light show when you enter or exit the vehicle. Signature Maybach elements, like the logo and chrome accents, are prominent throughout the design. Chrome detailing is applied extensively, from the radiator grille to the window surrounds and rear apron. The SUV rides on 21-inch wheels, with 22-inch options available. Five dual-tone paint schemes are offered, with single-tone options available for those seeking further customisation.

The interior of the Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV is equally opulent. It is the first model from the brand to feature vegetable-tanned leather. The cabin is highlighted by the MBUX Hyperscreen, displaying Maybach-specific animations. The interior also features active ambient lighting, with 64 different LED colours and 13 lighting combinations. Rear passengers enjoy extensive entertainment options, including two 11.6-inch displays and a tablet that can be used both inside and outside the vehicle. The standard Executive seats offer ventilation, massage functions, and neck and shoulder heating. When reclined, they also adjust the front passenger seat automatically with the Chauffeur package.

For added convenience, the doors of the EQS SUV can open automatically via the central display, provided sensors detect it is safe. A Burmester 4D surround sound system, with 15 speakers and Dolby Atmos, handles audio duties.

The Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV is powered by a dual motor setup that produces 649bhp and 950Nm of torque. This allows the SUV to accelerate from 0 to 100kmph in just 4.4 seconds, with a top speed of 210kmph. The vehicle is equipped with a 122kWh battery that supports 200kW DC fast charging, allowing for a claimed range of 611km on a full charge.
