Mercedes-Benz has unveiled the G500 V8 ‘Final Edition,’ which bids adieu to the eight-cylinder engine that has been used in the SUV since 1993. The German automaker has said that the production of the ‘Final Edition’ will be limited to 1500 units.

This special edition SUV also comes equipped with 20-inch AMG wheels featuring a double-spoke design. If the Olive Magno paint option is chosen, the wheels are finished in the body colour. However, if one of the other two available colours is selected, the wheels come in black. The ‘Final Edition’ lettering appears on various parts of the special model, including the outer protective strip and the spare wheel cover insert. When the vehicle is stationary, the exterior mirrors have logo projectors that project the ‘G’ logo and ‘Stronger Than Time’ lettering onto the ground. The indoor car cover included with the final G500 V8 has the same lettering.

The interior of the Mercedes G500 V8 is adorned with Nappa leather, enveloping almost every surface, including the cargo compartment and the panel housing the seat adjustment switches. Mercedes has equipped the vehicle with a Burmester surround sound system, two-tone seats, and a leather headliner. The centre section of the headliner has diamond stitching and is colour-coordinated with the centre of the seats.

The mechanical specifications remain unchanged beneath the hood, as the G500 V8 retains its twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V8 engine, generating an output of 410bhp and 610Nm of torque. Mercedes intends to manufacture the final units of the V8-powered G500 model from September 2023 to March 2024.
