Land Rover has launched the MY19 Discovery with a 2-litre Ingenium diesel engine. The luxury go-anywhere SUV comes in four trims, the base S, SE, HSE and top-of-the-line HSE Luxury.
Land Rover Discovery diesel gets an indigenously developed 2.0-litre Ingenium engine which produces 237bhp and 500Nm peak torque that is sent to all four wheels. This is also the first power plant from Land Rover which features a sequential turbo technology, where the engine uses one turbocharger at lower RPMs, and a second or both turbochargers at higher RPMs.
The interior of this seven-seater SUV includes electrically reclining seats, Intelligent Seat Fold (where the seats can be folded via a smartphone app), four-zone climate control, powered third-row seats and an optional 10-inch Touch Pro infotainment system.
The top-of-the-line HSE luxury also gets configurable ambient interior lighting, powered gesture tailgate and an electric sunroof. Optional heated front and second-row seats are also on offer.
“The Discovery’s unmatched capability and versatility have now been enhanced with the introduction of the high powered Ingenium diesel variant at an attractive price that we believe will enable the Discovery to appeal to a wider customer base.” Rohit Suri, president and MD, Jaguar Land Rover India.
