Lamborghini Huracan Evo – Launched in India

Lamborghini has launched the Huracan Evo, the latest raging bull from Lamborghini’s stable at Rs 3.73 crore (ex-showroom). The supercar borrows design and technical details from the Lamborghini Aventador S and the Huracan Performante and will replace the Huracan.

The supercar packs a naturally aspirated 5.2 litre V10 borrowed from the Performante that churns 631bhp with 600Nm of peak twist. With a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox, the all-wheel drive bull sprints from 0 to 100kmph in a mere 2.9 seconds! The Evo hits the 200kmph mark in 9 seconds, a tenth of a second shy from the Performante. At 1422 kg, this car stands 40kg heavier than the full-blown track-bred sibling.

The Evo gets all-wheel steering which is the first from the Italian marquee for a V10.  Derived from its larger siblings, the central ‘Lamborghini Vehicle Dynamics Control System’ system works in conjunction with the set-up to relay information from the chassis’ active control operations through a single control unit. This new central system calibrates variable ratio ‘dynamic steering’, magnetorheological dampers, traction and stability control, transmission and braking systems to suit the road conditions as well as actively predict them too. The Huracan Evo also features the Enhanced Lamborghini Dynamic Steering (LDS) coupled with the rea-wheel steering which provides higher responsiveness in corners while requiring the lowest steering angles. It ensures agility at low speed, as well as maximum stability in high-speed corners and under braking in the most challenging conditions.

“Lamborghini is intent on leading the advance to the highest level of super sports car technologies and driving emotion. This is the essence of the new Huracán Evo. It takes the extraordinary abilities of the Huracán Performante and combines state-of-the-art vehicle dynamic control to amplify the everyday Huracán driving experience,” says Stefano Domenicali, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Automobili Lamborghini.

On the aesthetic front, the car gets updated bumpers, high-mounted exhausts similar to the Huracan Performante and the Aventador SVJ. Adding to the aggressive design  is the new,  rear diffuser and the ducktail spoiler. The previous model’s interior was considered too simple and with the Evo, Lamborghini has been able to give the interiors a substantial makeover. The central bridge now has an 8.4-inch portrait display which is a first for Lamborghini. The driver can control all the major functions of the car including driver mode system.
