Jaguar introduces new F-PACE in India at Rs 70 lakh

The Jaguar F-Pace facelift gets subtle upgrades on the design front, gets a host of additional equipment and a choice of petrol and diesel engines.

Jaguar has introduced the new F-Pace in India at Rs 70 lakh for both its variants: Petrol and diesel. The F-Pace is the brand’s flagship SUV and now with a heavy onslaught of German rivals, Jaguar aims to up the appeal of the F-Pace with this mid-life refresh.

The Jaguar F-PACE sports a new redesigned and enlarged grille with Jaguar’s heritage logo-inspired ‘diamond’ detailing and newer rear lights with double chicane graphic. The headlights are super slim all-LED quad lights with ‘Double J’ Daytime Running Light (DRL) that delivers an increased resolution and brightness. It also comes with a new wide front bumper with redesigned air intakes and dark mesh details and side fender vents feature the iconic Leaper emblem.

The interior of the F-Pace is all-new and displays a more dynamic design. It is equipped with a center console and incorporates wireless device charging features. It comes with a new drive selector, and features an upper section finished with ‘cricket-ball’ stitching, the lower part precision engineered metal. Two new color variants Mars Red and Siena Tan that give a very sporty appeal. Second row seats get power recline, four zone climate control, interactive driver display and fixed panoramic roof are some of the features that come with the F-PACE.

Four-cylinder, turbocharged engine

On the powertrain front, the F-Pace gets a 2-litre, four-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine from JLR’s Ingenium family. There’s also a 2-litre, four-cylinder, turbo-diesel engine on offer. Both engines have a different power output, the petrol variant delivers 246Bhp of power and 365Nm of torque, whereas the diesel engine delivers 201Bhp and 430 Nm of torque.

Curved glass HD touchscreen and more features

The new F-PACE comes packed with a lot of features and new technology. It features a 11.4-inch curved glass HD touchscreen with latest Pivi Pro infotainment technology. It comes with Cabin Air Ionisation and Nanoe technology that improves interior air quality and removes allergens and unpleasant odors. The F-Pace is also equipped with a 3D surround camera, Meridian audio system, smartphone pack and remote.

The Jaguar F-Pace locks horns with the likes of Mercedes-Benz GLC, Audi Q5 and BMW X3. It is however pricier than its rivals at Rs 70 lakh. The GLC and the X3 both start at Rs 57 lakh, while the Audi Q5, which is no longer on sale in India and we’re awaiting the updated version, started at Rs 50 lakh before it was discontinued. Although it’s a proper head turner and we cannot wait to drive it and bring you a detailed review.
