After a significant downturn in the market due to the Covid-19 lockdown, buyers seem to have regained some confidence in spending money on a vehicle, highlighted by the immense sales numbers of the Hyundai Creta. Even though people are skeptical about buying cars online as opposed to going to a showroom, the Creta has been the most searched vehicle on their ‘Click to Buy’ online platform, recording close to a whopping 15 lakh visitors recently.

The Creta offers a range of engine and transmission combinations, a sizable feature list and Hyundai’s wide service network. Despite the peppy turbo-petrol generating a lot of interest, over 60 per cent customers have chosen the 1.5-litre diesel, showing that there is still a market for diesel vehicles amid the rising prices.

Tarun Garg, director, sales, marketing and service, Hyundai Motor India, said, “Ever since its launch in 2015, the Creta has been a benchmark in the industry, a household name that has represented distinction and success for over 4.85 lakh valued customers. With the launch of the all new Creta in March 2020, Hyundai has once again redefined SUV leadership in the segment and established its supremacy, recording over 55,000 bookings and more than 20,000 happy customers in just four months.”

Prices for the Hyundai Creta begin at Rs 10 lakh for the EX variant and go up to the Rs 17.2 lakh for the top-spec diesel SX (O) variant. The Creta also amages to outsell competitors like the Kia Seltos and MG Hector and even more premium offerings like the Jeep Compass and Tata Harrier.
