Hero MotoCorp unveiled the Mavrick 440 at Hero World 2024 on January 23. The bike shares a platform with the Harley-Davidson X440, but gets more modern roadster styling and some technical changes including a smaller 17-inch front wheel and fatter rear tyre. Just under a month after the unveil, prices for the Mavrick 440 have been announced and bookings are open with deliveries slated for April 15.

The Mavrick 440 shares the Harley-Davidson X440's 440cc engine

Hero Mavrick 440 powertrain

The Mavrick shares its 2V SOHC air-oil cooled 440cc single-cylinder with the Harley-Davidson X440. It produces 27bhp at 6000rpm and 36Nm at 4000rpm through a six-speed gearbox equipped with a slip-and-assist clutch. The Mavrick gets a retune compared to the Harley that causes it to make 2Nm less. However, Hero claim that 90 per cent of its 36Nm torque is accessible from 2000rpm.

The Mavrick shares its trellis frame with the X440. Notably absent is a USD fork and gas charged twin rear shocks. However, it gets a smaller 17-inch front wheel and a wider rear tyre compared to the X440, which should make it quicker on its feet. Wet weight is 187kg for the alloy wheel version and 191kg for the spoke wheel version with a fuel capacity of 13.5 litres. The Mavrick is 2100mm long and has a 1388mm wheelbase with a 175mm ground clearance. Seat height is 803mm, and stopping the Mavrick 440 is a 320mm front disc and 240mm rear disc.
