Ford rolls out its 10 millionth Mustang from its Michigan facility

Here’s a great news for Mustang owners and fans all over the world –  Ford has rolled out the 10 millionth Mustang at its Flat Rock Assembly Plant in Michigan, USA. The 10 millionth Mustang is a 453.7bhp Wimbledon White GT V8 six-speed convertible model.

The company celebrated this milestone by flying three WWII-era P-51 Mustang fighter planes over the facility while Ford employees and Mustang owners volunteered to parade Mustang sportscars produced for more than five decades from Dearborn to Flat Rock, where the car currently is manufactured. Furthermore, 60 Mustang owners came together to pay a tribute to the legend by spelling out’10,000,000’with their cars.

On the rollout of the 10 millionth Mustang, Jim Farley, president of global markets, Ford Motor Company said “Mustang is the heart and soul of this company and a favourite around the world. I get the same thrill seeing a Mustang roll down a street in Detroit, London or Beijing that I felt when I bought my first car – a 1966 Mustang coupe that I drove across the country as a teenager. Mustang is a smile-maker in any language”.

The Ford Mustang is one of the best selling sportscars in the world since the last century and has been the world’s best selling sportscars for three years straight. According to Ford, the Mustang has also featured in more movies and has more Facebook followers than any other car in the world!

Last month Ford celebrated 50 years of the Warner Bros. Picture’s classic film ‘Bullitt’ by showcasing the 1968 Mustang GT alongside the launch of the special edition Ford Mustang Bullitt at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
