The Dark Edition is an aesthetic package featuring blacked out interiors and exteriors, ‘Dark’ branded exterior badging, and branded stitching on the headrests. It has been launched on the new Nexon, Nexon.ev, Harrier, and Safari models. The launch means that every Tata Motors SUV can now be had in Dark Edition trim.
The Tata Nexon marks the entry point into the Dark Edition trim with prices starting at Rs 8.14 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) and rising to Rs 11.45 lakh for the Dark Edition. The Dark Edition can be optioned on the Creative, Creative +, Creative + S, Fearless, Fearless + S variants across all two engine and three gearbox options.
The Tata Nexon.ev is Tata’s flagship EV, and starts at Rs 14.49 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The Dark Edition Nexon.ev starts at a higher price of Rs 19.49 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). On the Nexon.ev, the Dark Edition is only available on a single variant of the three available – the Empowered + LR.
The Tata Harrier, newly updated alongside the Safari, starts at Rs 15.49 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) with the Dark Edition starting at Rs 19.99 lakh. The Dark Edition can be optioned on the Harrier’s Pure + S, Adventure +, Fearless, and Fearless + variants.
The Safari is Tata’s flagship model, and starts at Rs 16.19 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) versus Rs 20.69 lakh for the Dark Edition. The Dark Edition can be optioned on the Pure + S, Adventure +, Fearless, and Fearless + models.
Tata Motors already offers their SUVs in a variety of unique colours. Without a mechanical or feature upgrade, is the black-on-black aesthetic enough to command a higher asking price?
