The sixth edition of Cartier ‘Travel With Style’ Concours d’Elegance will be held on February 23 and 24 next year at the Rambagh Palace in Jaipur. The event is a platform for vintage car and motorcycle enthusiasts to display their distinctive collections while a panel of experts will pick the best vehicles from each category as winners.

Since its inception 10 years ago, FIVA says that their event has received an overwhelming response at national and international levels, and India is a now a big name in the context of historical automobiles. According to the federation, increasing participation in the competition and its overall success has led to the development in vehicle restoration standards and automobiles now restored in India are capable of matching the international standards. World famous classic car shows like the Pebble Beach Concours in the US and the Salon Retro Automobile in France have featured a category for cars originally sold to erstwhile Indian rulers.

After the introduction of Preservation Class and Indian Heritage Class at the second edition of the ‘Travel With Style’ event in New Delhi in 2011, the categories have seen an increase in popularity. The Preservation class showcases original restored cars and the Heritage Class highlights cars built during India’s early independence days. These vehicles are now seen as genuine collectables and are quite sought after, giving them a new lease of life and saving them from perishing.

Speaking about next year’s Concours D’Elegance, Mr Manvendra Singh, Curator – Cartier Travel With Style, says “With each edition, the response to Cartier Travel with Style has been overwhelming. With the last edition at the land of pearls- Hyderabad, we have gone beyond Delhi and Mumbai. With this edition, we are exploring the Land of the Maharajas – India’s pink city, Jaipur as a uniquely Indian event, promoting Indian automotive heritage.”
