Hyundai India has released images of an updated Grand i10, and have even given it a name — the Grand i10 Nios. The Grand i10 Nios gets a completely redesigned exterior and a heavily updated interior for this third generation of the hatchback. The name ‘Nios’ means ‘more’, and hints at Hyundai offering even more in terms of style, space and features to its customers with this update. The Nios will not replace the Grand i10, but the two will coexist in the Indian market.

On the outside

The Grand i10 Nios looks like a properly fresh face. The headlamps have been completely redesigned and seem to feature projector headlamps. The cascading grille design has been updated and it gets integrated DRLs in the grille. The bonnet is fairly sculpted and gets a distinct power bulge down the centre. The Grand i10 Nios also gets fog lamps placed low down on the bumper in what seem to be triangular curtains — these give the car a wide stance, and could possibly be functional aero as well though we can only confirm this once we see the car in the flesh. The Grand i10 has stylish looking alloys too, and also gets ‘G-i10’ badging on the redesigned X-shape C-pillar. No dimensions of the car have been released yet, so we cannot comment on whether this will be larger than the outgoing model quite yet.

On the inside

The Grand i10 Nios gets dual tone interiors but instead of black and beige like on the Grand i10, the Nios gets black and grey interiors. The screen is now a floating design, and looks larger than the outgoing one. The layout of the dash is more grown up, with more stylish looking air-con vents and an updated steering wheel. The dash gets a dimpled texture than also features on the door panels. Again, the list of features has not been revealed yet but from the photos we can discern that it will get automatic climate control, wireless phone charging and a part digital instrument cluster. Expect it to get the regular suite of Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and a rear-view camera as well.

The Grand i10 Nios is a comprehensive update over the Grand i10 being sold today. Bookings for the Grand i10 Nios are open and customers can book one at Hyundai dealerships across the country or online at Rs 11,000. Click here to book the Grand i10 Nios online.
