Nissan Motor India has announced subscription plans for Nissan and Datsun cars. The models available through this programme are the Magnite and Kicks from Nissan, and the Redi-Go from the Datsun brand. The company will offer subscription plans for these cars in the city of Delhi-NCR, Hyderabad and Chennai. Meanwhile, Bengaluru, Pune and Mumbai are on the cards for the second phase. Nissan has partnered with ORIX for the launch of this subscription plan in India.

The 'Nissan Intelligent Ownership Subscription Plan', lets you drive home a Nissan or Datsun vehicle without any down payment. The customer just needs to pay a refundable security deposit at the start and pay a fixed monthly fee based on a decided term. The plan covers ownership costs like vehicle insurance, registration fee, road tax, RTO expenses and other maintenance costs including scheduled and unscheduled repairs, tyre and battery management and roadside assistance as well. Nissan has tried to lure in customers with two USPs — 'white plate' and 'buy back' options. These make this scheme a pretty comprehensive idea.

Nissan has also introduced the Shop@Home digital platform, which allows buyers to book and buy a car from the comforts of their home.

Here is a list of the models, variants and how much they cost on this new subscription plan:

Speaking on the launch of this scheme, Sandeep Gambhir, managing director and CEO, Orix India, said, "Car ownership patterns in India are changing fast and in the last few months, we have witnessed a clear bias towards personal transportation as against use of public transportation. The proposed subscription programme aims to combine Orix's financial and operating capabilities with Nissan's unmatched product design and technology and the program will surely find a lot of customers choosing this vis a vis the other available options".

Nissan is the second brand to make available a subscription type ownership scheme in India, which caters an all-inclusive hassle free ownership service, following Maruti Suzuki, who announced its subscription service in September 2020. The brands say that this type of scheme is for people who don’t want that hassle of buying and selling the car every two to three years and in other cases for customers who don’t have the money for down payment.
