The MG Gloster has been a silent success for the British-Chinese automaker, as it has capably gone up against established rivals like the Toyota Fortuner and Ford Endeavour with unique features such as ADAS capabilities. Now, MG is giving its flagship SUV an upgrade with the new ‘Advanced Gloster’, starting at a price of ₹31.99 lakh. Let’s see what’s new on the SUV.

2022 MG Gloster design

The most notable design change in the new advanced Gloster is what MG calls the “British Windmill Turbine-themed” alloy wheels, which are only available on the four-wheel-drive variants. This is in addition to a new Golden colour option. The two-wheel-drive variant also gets a new rear bumper design.

2022 MG Gloster interior

MG is a company very proud of its internet-connected features, and the highlight of the interior is the 12.2-inch infotainment system on the dash, which is now complemented by live weather and AQI information, Hinglish language voice commands and offline navigation. Apple Carplay and Android Auto is standard. The infotainment also has a 12-speaker sound system and a panoramic sunroof. The Gloster is available in both six and seven-seat layouts.

2022 MG Gloster engine

The MG Gloster is available with a 2-litre twin-turbo diesel engine that produces 213bhp. Along with an eight-speed automatic gearbox, the Gloster now gets two-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive options. The car also gets seven off-road driving modes.

2022 MG Gloster pricing and rivals

The MG Gloster starts at ₹31.99 lakh for the two-wheel-drive Super variant, and goes all the way up to ₹40.77 lakh for the Savvy variant. This is an increase of less than 1 lakh over the existing prices. At those prices, it competes with the Toyota Fortuner and Mahindra Alturas in the country.
