Lamborghini has launched the Urus Performante in India, with prices for the Super SUV starting at Rs 4.22 crore. Being the go-faster variant of the standard Lamborghini Urus, the Performante is sure to be on the wishlist of many, and here’s what the maxxed-out Urus gets.

657bhp from the 4-litre twin-turbo V8

Lamborghini Urus Performante engine and performance

The big talking point about the Urus Performante is obviously the engine, and in a higher state tune compared to the standard SUV, the 4-litre twin-turbo V8 engine produces 657bhp – 16 more than the ‘normal’ Urus. 0-100kmph comes up in a claimed 3.3 seconds, with the top speed being 306kmph. Lamborghini has even endowed the Performante with Pirelli PZERO Trofeo R semi-slick tyres, with Pirelli having developed these tyres for application in an SUV for the first time. Power is sent to all four wheels via an 8-speed automatic transmission and the Performante also gets a new Torsen differential to handle the additional power.

The Performante is styled more aggressively than the standard Urus, with extensive use of carbonfibre translating to a reduction in weight by 47kg. The front bumper is new, reprofiled with a carbonfibre splitter, and the Performante sits lower than the standard Urus and Urus S by 20mm, thanks to the suspension which consists of steel springs as opposed to the air suspension present on the other Urus models. The track of the Performante is wider too (by 16mm), and 21-inch forged lightweight alloy wheels are standard on the Performante, with 22 and 23-inchers being optional. The Performante also gets a titanium Akrapovic sports exhaust as standard.

Interiors are quintessentially Lamborghini

The Performante’s cabin now features Nero Cosmus black Alcantara upholstery as standard with a new hexagonal seat stitching design. Leather is optional too, with plenty of customisation possibilities courtesy of Lamborghini’s Ad Personam program. A big change however is on the Tamburo drive mode selector that now ditches the terrain modes of Sabbia, Neve and Terra for a Rally mode instead.

Lamborghini Urus Performante pricing and rivals

Prices for the Urus Performante start at Rs 4.22 crore ex-showroom, which means that the SUV undercuts its closest rival, the Aston Martin DBX 707 by nearly Rs 40 lakh. The DBX is also a fair bit more powerful, but then again, the thrill of these super SUVs cannot be measured in numbers.
