Kia has shaken up the mid-sized SUV market with the Seltos and going by the number of bookings on the Carnival, it looks like it is on track to sell in big volumes as well. Joining the party will be Kia’s third offering, a compact SUV that will be based on the Hyundai Venue. The concept is set to be shown to the public at the 2020 Auto Expo and we expect the compact SUV to be driving on our roads by the end of this year.
The QYi as it is called, features slim headlights at the front that flow into the signature tiger nose grille and it gets silver accents on the bumper as well. The side profile is clean with kink in the window line, flared arches and a raked windscreen that give the car a sporty edge. The rear of the car features sleek tail lights, that are united by a thin light strip. There are subtle red accents littered around the car, that might be available only in a GT line trim, and they add to the QYi’s presence.
The QYi will enter a hotly contested compact SUV market populated by the likes of the Hyundai Venue, Ford Ecosport, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza and the Mahindra XUV300. Judging by Kia’s last two offerings, the equipment list should be class leading. Stay tuned to the evo India Instagram, Facebook and Twitter as we bring you fresh updates from the Auto Expo.
