The Mercedes-AMG GLE 53 4Matic+ Coupe offers the size of a heavyweight brawler with the fastback roofline of a low-slung sports car in one very fast package. Here’s what the 2024 model is working with.
The 2024 GLE 53 4Matic+ Coupe remains largely unchanged on the styling front. Subtle updates include an AMG badge on the bonnet and reworked bumpers. Also on offer is a new optional 22-inch alloy wheel design. New adaptive multibeam LED headlamps adorn the front end, with a new set of taillamps setting off the rear. The GLE 53 Coupe retains its large proportions and intimidating road presence.
The 2024 GLE 53 4Matic+ Coupe is powered by a 3-litre turbo-petrol inline-six producing 429bhp of power and 560Nm of torque. Assisting the engine is an ISG mild hybrid system producing 20bhp and 200Nm of additional power and torque. Sending power through the 4Matic+ AWD system is an AMG Speedshift nine-speed TCT gearbox.
The 2024 GLE 53 4Matic+ Coupe gets a new multifunction steering wheel accommodating drive mode, transmission, suspension, and exhaust settings. Headlining the centre console is the MBUX infotainment screen which is compatible with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and the AMG Track Pace app. Also present in the centre console are temperature controlled cup holders and powerful 100W charging ports alongside wireless charging trays. The GLE 53 4Matic+ Coupe keeps all the electronic and safety features you’d expect from a car of its segment like keyless go, blind spot assist, active brake assist, 360-degree camera, TPMS, high beam assist, and so on.
The 2024 GLE 53 4Matic+ Coupe has been launched at an ex-showroom price of Rs 1.85 crore and will go up against the Porsche Cayenne Coupe (Rs 1.41 crore ex-showroom) and Audi RS Q8 ( Rs 2.07 crore ex-showroom).
