Brabus today has unveiled the Mercedes AMG GLS 63 4Matic+, in an even more ludicrously powerful avatar. The tuning firm has not only taken the AMG GLS 63 to a whole new level with the Brabus 800, but with the PowerXtra B40 S-800 kit, it has managed to achieve increased peak output figures as well.

The stainless steel quad pipes

Under the hood, the standard AMG GLS 63 gets a 4-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine which is now paired to high-performance turbochargers. With the new performance upgrades, the Brabus 800 now produces a colossal 789bhp and 1000Nm, a significant bump of 185bhp and 150Nm over the stock AMG GLS 63. These numbers are impressive because the SUV weighs around 2600kgs and is capable of hitting 100kmph in just 3.8 seconds which is 0.4 seconds quicker. Also, the top-speed is electronically limited to 280kmph and the power to all the four wheels is sent via standard Speedshift nine-speed automatic gearbox. Adding aural melody to the experience are quad stainless steel high-performance exhausts. They are on offer with an active sound management system that enables the driver to switch between the ‘Sport’ and ‘Coming Home’ mode, so that neighbours don’t wake up with that throaty V8 exhaust note while coming home.

The high-performance turbochargers give a significant bump over the standard outputs

In terms of design, the Brabus 800 gets a blacked-out grille with red-striped vertical slats and an illuminated Brabus logo. Also, it gets a front-lip that is claimed to reduce front-axle lift at high speeds making it more stable at corners and some custom made carbon-fibre bits in the form of air-deflectors on the sides of the front bumper. Complimenting the exclusive overall design outside are the 24-inch Brabus Monoblock 'Platinum Edition’ M forged wheels wrapped with low profile 295/35 tyres.

On the inside, the Brabus 800 gets black leather upholstery with grey stitching and red-piping for a contrast look. In addition to these are seat surface and door panels featuring an arrow wave quilting along with embroidered Brabus Logo on all the six out of seven headrests. Brabus Race design aluminium shift paddles with red-highlights are also added to the steering wheel for choosing the right gear more precisely. Also, the customers are entitled to customize the interiors as per the personal preferences.

As for now, the Mercedes-AMG GLS 63 4Matic+ is the latest addition to the Brabus lineup this year. Before this, the tuner firm already unveiled its earlier projects based on the AMG E 63 S Facelift, A 45 S 4Matic+ and the AMG GT 63 S 4Matic+.
