Audi India has opened the bookings for the 2024 Audi Q8 in India at Rs 5 lakh. The official launch of the car is scheduled for August 22. While the car has received design and interior updates, the brand has kept the powertrain the same as before with a turbo-charged mild-hybrid V6. Here’s more.

2024 Audi Q8 exterior

The Audi Q8 receives a subtle facelift for 2024, with a focus on enhancing its visual appeal. The most noticeable change is the extensive use of black elements, replacing chrome with gloss black finishes across the grille, Audi rings, and various trim pieces. The headlamps are now narrower, while new bumpers with larger air intakes further emphasise its sporty character. The update also brings larger wheels, with base sizes jumping from 19 inches to 21 inches, and options available up to 23 inches. The blacked-out theme extends to the roof rails, wing mirrors, and even the twin tailpipes, all contributing to a more aggressive appearance.

The wheel sizes have increased to 21-inches from the previous 19-inches.

Changes are minimal inside. New inlays are available in wood, aluminium, and carbon, and the seats feature updated stitching. The three-screen layout, incorporating a 12.3-inch digital cockpit, a 10.1-inch infotainment screen, and an 8.6-inch climate control screen, remains unchanged. However, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are now available. The cabin continues to offer a premium experience, this being Audi’s flagship.

2024 Audi Q8 powertrain and chassis

The Q8 retains its 3.0-litre turbocharged V6 engine, producing 335bhp and 500Nm of torque. This powertrain allows the Q8 to accelerate from 0 to 100kmph in 5.6 seconds, with an electronically-limited top speed of 250kmph. The engine is paired with a 48V mild-hybrid system, which should contribute to efficiency. Unfortunately, diesel options are not available for the Indian market, and the SQ8, with its more potent engine, is also excluded from the lineup.

The Q8’s chassis remains largely the same, sharing its MLB Evo platform with other models like the Urus, Bentayga, Q7, and Cayenne. The suspension setup is also unchanged and it comes with air suspension as standard.

2024 Audi Q8 price and availability

While the price hasn’t been revealed yet, those interested can book the new Q8 for Rs 5 lakh. The outgoing model’s prices start at Rs 1.07 crore, going up to Rs 1.43 crore, but do expect an increase in price with the updates.
