Triumph Motorcycles has announced the launch of its updated Tiger 900 range, aiming to redefine middleweight adventure bikes with more power, increased capability, and heightened comfort for the rider. The new lineup includes the Tiger 900 GT and Rally Pro.
The Tiger 900 range exhibits a more aggressive and adventure-oriented stance with new bodywork, including a redesigned beak, cockpit, and side panels. Contemporary paint schemes and graphics complete the updated look. All models feature new 7-inch TFT instruments with updated graphics, a USB-C charger, and bluetooth connectivity as standard. The inclusion of rider-friendly features like a new rider seat and a damped handlebar mounting system is said to enhance long-distance comfort. Both models come with optimised cornering ABS and traction control, various riding modes, Triumph Shift Assist (Rally Pro), heated grips and seats (Rally Pro), illuminated switches, and other premium specifications.
Adjustable seat heights (adjustable by 20mm), dimensions spanning length, width, and height, and a fuel capacity of 20 litres cater to different rider preferences and riding conditions.
The 2024 range introduces new safety elements, such as improved braking, an emergency deceleration warning system, and distinct marker lights for enhanced visibility during night and low visibility conditions.
GT Model: Features Marzocchi 45mm USD adjustable cartridge forks, rear suspension with adjustable preload and rebound damping, and optimized road handling. Travel – 180mm fork travel & 170mm rear wheel travel.
Rally Pro: Equipped with Showa 45mm USD adjustable cartridge forks, fully adjustable rear suspension, and additional riding modes suitable for off-road adventures. Travel – 240mm fork travel & 230mm rear wheel travel.
The liquid-cooled, 12-valve, DOHC, inline 3-cylinder engine offers a capacity of 888cc, delivering 107bhp at 9,500rpm and 90Nm of torque at 6,850rpm.
The Tiger 900 series boasts a major engine upgrade, resulting in a 13 per cent increase in power. Triumph claims that this enhancement, along with a T-plane crank and offset firing intervals, ensures improved performance across the rev range and up to nine per cent better fuel economy.
Both models feature a tubular steel trellis main frame, varying suspension setups, cast or spoked wheels, and premium braking systems by Brembo.
Since these bikes have got significant upgrades, expect the price to also take a jump from the previous starting point of Rs 13.7 lakh. Launch details haven't been revealed yet. The Tiger 900 goes up against the Honda Africa Twin, Ducati Multistrada 950, BMW F 850 GS and F 900XR.
