Triumph Motorcycles India has just announced that it will postpone the price hike for its entire BS6 range till July of this year. Triumph has done this as it still has a lot of customer interest and does not want to burden the customer with this increase in price at this time. This announcement comes in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic that has had a major impact on the automotive retail market. The company will also support existing customers by extending warranty timelines for bikes whose warranty expires between the months of March and May.

Speaking about the announcement, Shoeb Farooq, GM, Triumph Motorcycles India, said, “Triumph Motorcycles has decided to defer the upcoming BS6 price increase amidst the current difficult and unprecedented circumstances due to the COVID19 pandemic. We also understand that our customers would have been concerned with their motorcycle warranties expiring in March & April and services lapsing in the lockdown period, hence to ease their concerns we’ve decided to extend the expiring warranties until June 30, 2020 and any lapsed periodic maintenance during the lockdown will not impact warranty as long as the customer gets it done within a month of the lockdown opening. At the back end we are preparing our dealerships to handle any increased service volume post the lockdown and we’ve put processes in place to ensure a smooth customer experience. These are trying times and as a brand, we want to offer as much support to our customers as possible”. Triumph prepared well in advance for the BS4 to BS6 transition. We don’t have any unsold BS4 inventories and we will have ensured robust BS6 availability. In next two months Triumph will have strong representation across all segments with BS6-compliant motorcycles”.

Triumph already has quite a few of its bikes that are BS6 ready and had been on offer since January 2020 itself, including the Bonneville Street Twin, the Bonneville T 100, Bonneville T 120 and the Bonneville Speedmaster. As of now, the company has deferred the price hike on these particular BS6 models.

Triumph is also set to launch the all-new 2020 Street triple RS in India that is said to be the KTM 790 Duke rival. This new Street triple RS launch will take place over social media and you can stay tuned to evo India to catch all the updates.
