Royal Enfield has showcased the replacement to the Scram 411 in the form of the Scram 440, and the motorcycle gets a host of upgrades including a larger engine, more power and torque, upgraded suspension and added equipment.

Royal Enfield Scram 440 design

In terms of the design, the Scram 440 is identical to the model it replaces but it gets five new colourways – Force Blue, Force Grey, Force Teal, Trail Green and Trail Blue – to keep things fresher. You also get an all new LED headlamp. The Force variant of the Scram also gets cast aluminium alloy wheels with tubeless tyres fitted. The motorcycle also gets top box capability now. Apart from this, there are no visual changes on the Scram 440 compared to the 411, but you do get 25+ accessories which include crash guards, a headlight guard and panniers.

You get a bigger front piston calliper on the Scram 440, compared to the Scram 411

The Scram 440 gets a ground clearance of 200mm, with the off-road suspension’s travel being 190mm at the front and 180mm at the rear. The frame of the motorcycle has now been further strengthened. In terms of the brakes, you get a bigger front piston calliper (30/32mm), and the Scram 440 also gets switchable ABS.

The 443cc engine produces 25.4bhp

The Scram 440 gets a 443cc engine, which is based on the earlier 411cc engine but now with a 3mm bigger bore. Power and torque have both gone up by 4.5 per cent and 6.5 per cent respectively, to 25.4bhp and 34Nm, and the motorcycle gets a 6-speed gearbox as opposed to the Scram 411’s 5-speed gearbox. The motorcycle also gets a lighter ‘pull type’ clutch for easier clutch operation.

Royal Enfield Scram 440 price

Prices for the Royal Enfield Scram 440 have not yet been revealed, and it will not be sold alongside the Scram 411, but it will be replacing the latter. You can expect it to be priced at a premium over the outgoing Scram 411’s pricing. Test rides of the motorcycle will begin from December 15, and the motorcycle goes on sale in January 2025.
