Ducati calls the Multistrada V4 S Grand Tour, the most complete Multistrada ever. And rightfully so, as Ducati has fitted into it all the equipment you previously had as options for the V4 S on which this bike is based. Everything from additional LED lamps to the heated seats has been offered. Mechanically, there are no changes and it still runs the same V4 Granturismo engine seen on the other bikes in the Multistrada family.

Updates on the Multistrada V4 S Grand Tour

Ducati's new Multistrada V4 S Grand Tour offers a range of updates and enhancements over the standard Multistrada V4 S model. Starting with safety, the TPMS is now standard. On the front, you would notice additional LED lights which are included as standard on the Grand Tour model, improving visibility during night rides and in foggy conditions. Moving further back, the Multistrada V4 S Grand Tour also incorporates design elements from the V4 Rally, including a rigidly mounted handlebar for improved directness in steering. The passenger seat is also borrowed from the V4 Rally, offering better support on long rides. Additionally, both the grips and seats offer a heating function, the smartphone compartment is now ventilated, and the hands-free fuel cap is now standard. A central stand has also been added. At the back, to improve thermal comfort, the Grand Tour includes heat shields on the swingarm and the left side of the rear subframe. Additionally, closable ducts in the leg area are also there. The Multistrada V4 S Grand Tour features integrated side panniers with a total volume of 60 litres. These panniers are also painted in the same colour scheme as the rest of the bike which is the only colour option you can have on the Grand Tour.

Standard equipment carried over from before

While the Multistrada V4 S Grand Tour introduces several updates, it maintains key features from its legacy like the liquid-cooled V4 Granturismo engine, delivering 168bhp at 10,500rpm and 125Nm of torque at 8,750rpm. The radar system features Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) and Blind Spot Detection (BSD). The electronics package comprises cornering ABS, Ducati’s wheelie and traction controls, cornering lights, and Vehicle Hold Control. The Grand Tour retains the DSS semi-active suspension control system, which analyses riding conditions and adjusts fork and shock absorber settings instantly. The Minimum Preload function, allowing riders to lower the motorcycle when stopping or travelling at low speeds is also standard. The suspension offers 170-180mm of travel. The bike also features a 6.5-inch TFT colour display complete with navigation and smartphone mirroring functions.

Additional options for the Ducati Multistrada V4 S Grand Tour

Despite all the above-mentioned features, there’s still room for customisation. The accessories catalogue includes various saddle choices, a motorcycle lowering set, windshield options, and various luggage solutions.

Ducati Multistrada V4 S Grand Tour pricing and rivals

Any plans for an India launch haven’t been announced yet. Abroad, the bike is priced close to the V4 Rally which has a tentative price of Rs 29.72 lakh in India. This also makes the bike more affordable than the sporty Pikes Peak edition which has a price tag of Rs 31.48 lakh.

In terms of rivals, BMW is yet to launch the 1300 GS which is claimed to be a step up from the regular BMW R1250 GS and thus a more likely competitor to the fully specced Multi V4 S Grand Tour. For now, the BMW R1250 GS Adventure and the Triumph Tiger 1200 GT Explorer starting from Rs 22.50 lakh and Rs 20.69 lakh respectively are the only competitors in India.
