2022 Ducati DesertX comes in Special Star White livery

2022 Ducati DesertX Design

The design of the 2022 Ducati DesertX design language takes on a different approach with its Special Star White livery rather than the Ducati red which we are used to seeing. Moreover, it also seems to take inspiration from the Enduro-spec motorcycles of the 1980s. The twin-round headlamps along with a high wind deflector give the bike a much more classic look. There are also two strips in red and black, one displaying the name of the bike maker while the other displaying the name of the motorcycle. The tail lamp is an LED unit with flashing emergency braking light functionality.

2022 Ducati DesertX Powertrain and Chassis

The Ducati DesertX gets the 937cc Testastretta 11° water-cooled engine which produces 108.6bhp at 9250rpm and 92Nm at 6500 rpm. It also gets a steel trellis frame supported by fully-adjustable long travel suspensions from Kayaba on the front as well as the back. The rear gets a monoshock with an aluminium swingarm capable of 220mm travel while the front gets 46mm USD forks with 230mm travel. All of this makes for a 250mm ground clearance with a seat height of 875mm. There’s a 21-inch wheel at the front and a 18-inch one at the rear. Stopping this motorcycle are Brembo-M50 Monobloc four-piston callipers which are radially mounted on twin 320mm discs at the front while the rear gets a dual-piston floating calliper on a 265mm disc.

2022 Ducati DesertX Features

One of the main highlights of the Ducati DesertX is the 21-litre fuel tank. If for some reaso you want more range from your DesertX, you can also add the 8-litre auxiliary fuel tank which will be placed near the pillion seat. Moreover, the rider doesn't even have to get off the bike to do so as the fuel transfer from the extra to the main tank happens with a press of a button.

The DesertX comes with six riding modes-Sport, Touring, Wet, Urban, Enduro and Rally. There are also four power options to choose from Full, High, Medium and Low. It also gets a 5-inch TFT cluster equipped with Ducati Multimedia System, optional turn-by-turn navigation and two info modes- Standard and Rally. It also receives Bosch IMU and the usual Ducati suite of engine brake control, traction control, wheelie control, quickshifter and three levels of ABS which can be switched off completely in the Enduro and Rally modes.
