Hero had some interesting products lined-up at EICMA 2019, and now the brand has launched the BS-VI compliant Splendor iSmart in India at Rs 64,900 (ex-showroom, India). The bike will be available at all the dealerships across the country by the end of this month.

All about the country’s first BS-VI-compliant motorcycle

The Hero Splendor iSmart is powered by a new, fuel-injected 110cc, single-cylinder motor producing 9.8Nm, a boost of 10 percent over the previous model and 9bhp(the old model made 9.38bhp).

Hero Motocorp has also made changes to the frame claiming it to be lighter and stronger. The changes have resulted in a 36mm longer wheelbase, which was previously 1245mm. The ground clearance now is 180mm, 15mm more than the previous model. Adding to the list of hardware updates is the new suspension with increased travel.

Overall styling of the bike remains the same, however, there are some minor tweaks to the headlamp to make it brighter.

The BS-VI compliant variant is expensive by almost Rs 7500 pricier the BS-IV compliant variant. The bike goes up against the likes of TVS Radeon (Rs 51,070) and Bajaj Platina 110 H-Gear (Rs 50,899).These bikes, however, are BS-IV compliant and will see a hike in price once the BS-VI updates are brought on board.
