You’ll need head to www.bmw-motorrad.com on September 1 to book the BS6-compliant modes of entry-level BMWs in the country — G 310 R and G 310 GS. You can even head to your nearest BMW Motorrad showroom to book one. But what’s new on the G 310 twins?
Well, both the bikes are expected to retain the 313cc mill in the same state of tune, with the same peak power and torque figures of 33.5bhp and 28Nm; which was also the case of the TVS Apache RR310. For those living under a rock, yes, the RR310 shares the engine with the BMWs. Even the chassis is expected to be the same.
What’s going to be new are LED-headlamps with integrated DRLs and minor other cosmetic change including a red frame. As seen on the TVS, BMW could also equip the G 310s with ride-by-wire which would bring in riding modes as well. The TVS Apache RR 310 was also lent with new Michelin Road 5 tyres in its BS6 update. We could possibly see a similar upgrade on the G 310 R as well while the G 310 GS would do with the Metzeler Tourance rubber.
The pre-booking amount has not been disclosed by BMW Motorrad as of yet. Also, both the bikes will be offered with the standard three-year unlimited kilometres warranty, with an option to extend it by two years. It will also offer a 24x7 roadside assistance package with the G 310 R and G 310 GS.
Announcing the G 310 twins launch, Vikram Pawah, President, BMW Group India said, “BMW Motorrad India has built a very robust position among motorcycling enthusiasts in India. With the BMW G 310 bikes, thousands of riding enthusiasts have entered the premium world of BMW Motorrad to explore riding in a completely different way.
