BMW R 1300 GS launched in India at ₹20.95 lakh

The BMW R 1300 GS is 12kg lighter and produces 9 more bhp than its predecessor, taking it up to 143bhp

BMW Motorrad India has officially launched the BMW R 1300 GS in India. Available as a Completely Built-up Unit (CBU), deliveries of the new model will commence by the end of June 2024. The introductory ex-showroom price for the BMW R 1300 GS Pro is set at ₹20.95 lakh. For riders seeking further personalization, BMW offers three distinct styling options: Style Triple Black, Style GS Trophy, and 719 Tramuntana.

Design and Features

The BMW R 1300 GS boasts an all-new design that retains traditional GS elements. Key features include a significantly flatter tank ramp, new LED Matrix Headlights, and an adjustable windshield for optimal visibility. The bike’s colour options enhance its appeal, ranging from Light White metallic to Racing Blue metallic for the GS Trophy style and Aurelius Green metallic for the 719 Tramuntana style.

Performance and Engine

At the heart of the R 1300 GS is a powerful two-cylinder boxer engine, the most potent ever produced by BMW, delivering 143bhp at 7750 rpm and 149 Nm of torque at 6500 rpm. This engine incorporates BMW’s ShiftCam technology, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.

Advanced Technology and Safety

The motorcycle comes equipped with features such as Dynamic Suspension Adjustment (DSA), Shift Assistant Pro, multiple riding modes including Enduro Pro for off-road adventures, and BMW’s Full Integral ABS Pro for enhanced braking performance. Additional safety features include Dynamic Brake Control (DBC), Hill Start Control (HSC) Pro, and Engine Drag Torque Control (MSR).

Connectivity and Comfort

Riders will appreciate the standard 6.5-inch full-colour TFT screen with BMW Motorrad Multi-Controller for easy access to vehicle and connectivity functions. Comfort features such as Keyless Ride, heated grips, and a smartphone charging compartment with USB socket are also included. The new Option 719 Tramuntana model offers advanced safety aids like Active Cruise Control (ACC) and Front Collision Warning (FCW).
