2024 Kawasaki W175 Street launched at Rs 1.35 lakh

The Street becomes the second model in the W series in Kawasaki’s India lineup

Kawasaki has added another classic to the W series lineup with the introduction of the W175 Street, launched at an introductory price of Rs 1.35 lakh. Launched at IBW, the bike is made exclusively for the Indian market and gets classic styling similar to the W175. It's also powered by the same 177cc air-cooled engine.

W175 Street design and features

The bike continues the retro styling seen on the W175 and the bigger W-series motorcycles. Upfront is a round headlight featuring a halogen bulb. The instrument cluster features a retro/digital design. In contrast to the standard W175, the Street gets two new colours namely – Candy Emerald Green and Metallic Moondust Gray.

W175 Street powertrain and chassis

The bike runs on an OBD-II compliant 177cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine producing 13bhp and 13.3Nm of torque. The transmission is a 5-speed similar to the W175. The bike runs on 17-inch alloy wheels wrapped in tubeless tyres. It gets a 270mm disc brake at the front along with a drum brake at the rear. There's also single-channel ABS on offer.

The main changes include the introduction of new colours, alloy wheels and tubeless tyres. Other than that, the bikes remain relatively similar. The newer W175 Street costs Rs 1.35 lakh making it Rs 12 thousand more affordable than the W175 which starts from Rs 1.47 lakh.

W175 Street price, launch and rivals

The bike is launched at an introductory price of Rs 1.35 lakh which is limited to the first few units. Expect the price to increase as these bikes roll out. Deliveries will commence in December itself. The W175 Street will rival the likes of the Yamaha FZ-X, TVS Ronin and Royal Enfield Hunter 350.
