The 2021 Honda Gold Wing Tour has made its way to Indian shores and will be available in two variants, one with a six-speed manual transmission that will cost Rs 37.2 lakh and the other will be specced with a seven-speed DCT gearbox which will cost Rs 39.16 lakh (both prices ex-showroom, Gurugram). The Gold Wing Tour will be coming to India straight from Japan in CBU form.

The 2021 Gold Wing Tour is powered by a mahoosive 1883cc, flat-six engine and puts out 124.7bhp at 5500rpm and 170Nm at 4500rpm. The engine comes mated to a six-speed manual transmission which gets a slipper clutch and an electric reverse feature. You can also get the bike with a seven-speed DCT gearbox which eliminates the hassle of having to shift gears. The DCT ’box also enables a creep forward and back function. The Gold Wing Tour uses a ride-by-wire system that enables four riding modes - Tour, Sport, Econ and Rain. These riding modes work in tandem with the suspension damping, traction control and braking system and alter the parameters accordingly. Other engine-related features include hill start assist and idling stop (DCT only).

In terms of its chassis, the Gold Wing Tour uses an aluminium twin-beam frame and is suspended on a double-wishbone setup in the front and a pro-link shock absorber at the rear. As mentioned earlier, the damping adjusts based on the riding mode and this is possible due to stepper motors in the front and rear. The rear shock absorber also gets electronic preload adjustability. The 2021 Gold Wing Tour gets a 121-litre top box (up by 11 litres from before) and it can easily accommodate two full-face helmets. The Gold Wing is a tourer and to that end, the bike gets a 21.1-litre fuel tank which should give the bike an approximate range of 380km before needing to stop for a refill.

The bike gets an updated speaker system and a 7-inch infotainment system that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and two USB Type-C ports as well. The pillion seat gets an adjustable backrest making it a comfortable ride whether you’re riding solo or two up. The Gold Wing Tour comes with a smart key that can be used to lock/unlock the handlebar remotely and to open the top box and panniers as well. The DCT variant also benefits from the addition of an airbag.

The manual transmission variant is available in the Pearl Glare White colourway while the DCT is available in the Gunmetal Black Metallic colourway. Bookings for the bike are already open and deliveries are expected to begin in July. The 2021 Honda Gold Wing Tour is rivalled by the likes of the Harley-Davidson Road Glide Special which costs Rs 35 lakh.
