Aston Martin reveals racetrack-focused Valkyrie AMR Pro hypercar

Meet the Valkyrie AMR Pro, the hypercar for the racetrack with absolutely no limits!

Aston Martin has revealed the Valkyrie AMR Pro, a track-only variant of the Valkyrie which was first seen in concept guise at the Geneva Motor Show back in 2018. The hypercar has been built in collaboration with Red Bull Advanced Technologies, and it intends to complete the 8.5-mile 24h Le Mans circuit at a time of 3:20 minutes.

The interiors of the Valkyrie AMR Pro are yet to be revealed

The Valkyrie AMR Pro is powered by the same naturally aspirated 6.5-litre Cosworth V12 engine as seen on the road-legal Valkyrie, but with tweaks to stay true to its only function; to perform on the racetrack with absolutely no restraints! While the exact power output figures are currently unknown, the V12 engine revs up to 11,000rpm and is expected to deliver even more thrills than the road-legal Valkyrie. The exact performance specifications are scheduled to be released later this year.

The Valkyrie AMR Pro also sheds some kilos by losing the Rimac-sourced hybrid system, and addition of lightweight elements such as carbonfibre bodywork, carbon suspension wishbones, Perspex windscreen and windows.

Aston Martin and Red Bull Advanced Technologies have used the road-legal Valkyrie’s chassis to underpin the Valkyrie AMR Pro, but with some additional tweaks. The chassis track measures 96mm at the front and 115mm at the rear, whereas the wheelbase is now 380mm longer. The Valkyrie AMR Pro also receives an aerodynamic package that will add 260mm to the hypercar’s length.

Aston Martin will be producing only 40 units of the Valkyrie AMR Pro, sadly none of which will be right-hand-drive. It is important to note that the earlier production run was limited to just 25 units. Customers will be invited for a special track-day event held at different international circuits. While there is no official confirmation on the price front, we expect it to be around 3.5 million USD (Rs 25.9 crore) with deliveries scheduled to begin in the fourth quarter of 2021. No cheap thrills indeed!
