Aprilia has a rich history in motorsports, with 54 world titles to its name in various championships. It’s road-going superbike – the RSV4 is loved the world over. But it was born as a race bike, introduced in 2008 and then let loose in the World Superbike Championship in 2009. On July 26, 2009, MotoGP legend and world title holder Max Biaggi's victory at Brno marked the start of the legendary Aprilia RSV4's success in the World Superbike Championship. Over time, it amassed seven world titles, including three for riders and four for manufacturers totalling 44 wins and 102 podium finishes.
To celebrate that, Aprilia has launched the SE-09 SBK numbered series with the iconic livery on the RSV4 Factory and the Tuono V4 Factory along with some carbon upgrades.
The main upgrade to this numbered series is the livery. The livery is made with Aprilia’s characteristic colours – red, black and white exactly how it was on the first RSV4. Besides that, both bikes get carbon front brake air intakes and a carbon front mudguard. The progressive numbering of the model appears on the fuel tank.
The bikes were introduced at the recent MotoGP Grand Prix of the Americas in Austin, Texas by the team’s riders Aleix Espargaro and Maverick Vinales. These bikes were launched for the global market, however, an Indian launch is unlikely.
