Driving along the beautiful East coast of India in the Mahindra Marazzo, we at evo India have been through some really incredible places in West Bengal and Odisha. On Day three of the Mahindra Marazzo Ocean Trail, we drove from Kaithkhola to Puri in Odisha. From our overnight stop at the port town of Dhamara we headed to the nearby Kaithkhola beach. After some time spent at the largely empty beach, we decided to make our way down south.

We were met with some fabulous roads on our way to Puri and the Marazzo cruised comfortably on them at fairly high speeds. A short highway run later, it was time for lunch and we took a brief detour to Cuttack. The roads had a fair share of traffic but that was a non-issue for the Marazzo and I am happy to report that it is a joy to drive in traffic. After a quick lunch, we again got on the highway and made good progress. We bypassed the city of Bhubaneswar and reached the coastal town of Konark. The bright blue waters just a hundred metres or so from NH16 are a treat to the eyes. We also visited the popular Sun temple in Konark. Soon after that it was time to drive the Mahindra Marazzo to Puri. The roads that connect Konark to Puri are some of the most beautiful you will see. A picture perfect canopy of trees covers the well-laid stretch of NH16 and is a great place for a photo-op. Unfortunately, it was already dusk by the time we reached this patch of road.

Covering a distance of almost 270km we reached Puri. Tomorrow we move towards Vishakhapatnam and on our way explore the magnificent Chilkha lake, the largest lagoon in the country.
