The Volkswagen Virtus has been confirmed for a June 9 launch, and we’re excited, because like the Slavia, this car too will add some much-needed life into the mid-size sedan segment. The Virtus was unveiled recently and is set to be VW’s second offering on the MQB-A0-IN platform after the Taigun. Interested customers can pre-book the Virtus.

We already know quite a lot about VW’s upcoming sedan, but let’s take a quick refresher. The Virtus will be offered in two trims — the Dynamic Line and the Performance Line. The Dynamic Line will be offered with the smaller 1-litre TSI engine paired to either a six-speed manual or a torque-converter, while the Performance Line will be powered by the larger 1.5-litre TSI, paired to a 7-speed DSG gearbox. Both trims will bear visual cues to differentiate themselves from each other. Some of the equipment on the Virtus includes a 10-inch touch screen infotainment system, an 8-inch digital cockpit, an eight-speaker sound system, ventilated seats, a cooled glovebox, rear A/C vents, and a conventional sunroof among others. The safety features list includes six airbags, electronic stability control, hill hold, reverse parking camera with guidelines, ISOFIX child anchorages and more.

The rear of the Virtus will remind you of the Jetta

The Virtus goes up against the Honda City, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, and the Hyundai Verna. Its prices are due to be out soon, but until then, all we can do is wait. Which trim of the Virtus would you pick — the Dynamic Line or the Performance Line? Let us know!
