The Volkswagen Virtus GT with the 1.5-litre TSI engine now gets a six-speed manual transmission at a price point of Rs 16.89 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The Volkswagen Taigun also gets new GT Plus variants, whose ex-showroom prices start at Rs 17.79 lakh. The German automaker has also introduced new GT Edge Limited Collection paint schemes for the sedan as well as the SUV which can be ordered online.
The 1.5-litre Virtus now comes with a manual transmission in its top end GT Plus variant. This top variant of the sedan was previously shipped exclusively with a 7-speed DSG automatic transmission. Both of the Volkswagen Virtus' engines, the 1.5-litre and the 1-litre petrol engines, are now available with a manual transmission.
Like the Virtus GT Plus, the Taigun GT Plus is now available with a manual gearbox. Prior to now, this variation was only available with a DSG transmission. Additionally, the lower GT trim of the Taigun 1.5 TSI, which was previously only offered with the manual transmission, now gets a DSG transmission. This expands the variants available with the more powerful engine to appeal to a wider audience.
Volkswagen has also unveiled the GT Edge Limited Collection. This collection offers Deep Black Pearl or Carbon Steel Grey matte finishes as two new paint options for the Taigun GT Plus DSG and GT Plus MT. In addition, the Virtus GT Plus DSG and GT Plus MT will now be offered with Deep Black Pearl paint. According to the brand, the GT Edge Limited Collection can only be ordered online and will be made specifically as per individual orders. Deliveries will commence in July.
