Vespa has updated its portfolio with the Dual 125 and 150 scooters. This scooter range is distinctive from the other available Vespa scooters, primarily because of their two-tone colour scheme. In addition to that, both the 125cc and the 150cc engines are now BS6-II compliant. Also, the scooters sport a bright-coloured floorboard and better pillion comfort. These vibrant scooters from Vespa will set you back Rs. 1.32lakh for the 125 VXL and will go up to Rs. 1.49lakh with the 150 VXL.

New colour schemes

Aesthetically, there are no major changes, except for the colours, which we think will satisfy consumers who are after funky-looking scooters. There are four different colour schemes to choose from: Pearl White + Azuro Provenza and Pearl White + Beige are available with the less expensive VXL variants, while the Pearl White + Matte Red and the Pearl White + Matt Black are available with the 150cc SXL models. The contracting colours are present on the seat, the pillion backrest, the floorboard, and the lower body panels.

BS6-II compliant engines

As for the powertrains, both the 125cc and the 150cc are now BS6 Phase 2 compliant, which means they are E20 fuel-ready and OBD-II compliant. The 125cc engine is good for 9.65bhp at 7400rpm and 10.11Nm of torque at 5,600rpm, while the bigger 150cc produces 10.64bhp at 7400rpm and 11.26Nm of torque at 5300rpm.

Here’s what Diego Graffi, chairman and MD of Piaggio Vehicles, said about the Vespa Dual, “...With the Vespa Dual we want to appeal to the up-and-coming Gen Z that is looking for something different and reflective of their personality…There is a Vespa for every type of customer and th Vespa Dual is for those who like to live young and bold.”

The Vespa Dual is available across 250+ Piaggio dealerships in the country, and you can take one home today. The newest addition from the Italian marque competes with the like of TVS Ntorq, Honda Activa 125, TVS Jupiter 125, Suzuki Avenis and many more. Compared to its prime competitors, the Vespa is on the expensive side. But, for a luxury scooter, the Dual looks more appealing, thanks to its retro-inspired design and funky dual-tone colour schemes.
