To make the new Glanza more accessible to customers, Toyota has launched a new entry-level variant of the Glanza, the G MT.

The new entry-level variant of the Toyota Glanza is propelled by a BS6 compliant 1.2-litre petrol engine, mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox, making 81bhp of power and 113Nm of torque, slightly lower than the mild hybrid variant which makes 87bhp and 113Nm. The new variant also gets slightly less fuel economy, 21.01kmpl as opposed to 23.87kmpl, due to the lack of the mild-hybrid system.

Other than that, the new variant gets all the same features as it’s hybrid sibling which includes a 7-inch infotainment display with built-in Apple Carplay and Android Auto, push button start and climate control. The exterior gets the same projector headlamps with LED DRLs, LED taillights as well as the same 16-inch diamond cut alloy wheels.

The new G MT variant of the Glanza competes against the Zeta variant of the Maruti Suzuki Baleno which does come up short compared to some features of the Glanza. Toyota also offers a 3 year/1 lakh km warranty on the car to sway more customers towards the Glanza.
