Goodwood FOS is one of the biggest automotive festivals in the world. Carmakers from around the world flock there to show off their latest concepts and new launches. Here are the cars you just can't miss when they are unveiled at this year’s event.
Ferrari has introduced another one-off model. This time, it is based on the Ferrari 488 GT3 Evo racer. This is a track-only model and previews Ferrari’s closed-wheel race cars of the future. The car continues the aerodynamic design from the 488 GT3 and comes with 18-inch rims as standard. The KC23 features butterfly doors, motorised air intakes and an F1-style steering wheel. The rear wing is a bolt-on part and can be completely removed for higher top-speed runs.
Originally unveiled in April this year, the Genesis GV80 Coupe is a sportier alternative to the GV80 SUV. It comes with a fastback-like roofline and a more aggressive design. The concept vehicle features a similar grille but with bigger intakes and 23-inch wheels. Inside, the concept also features a four-seat design compared to the six-seat configuration available on the standard GV80 SUV.
Hyundai hasn’t revealed much about the Ioniq 5 N yet, but we will finally get to see it in the flesh at the FOS. The car is going to be the brand’s first all-electric high-performance ‘N’ model and was also recently seen testing at the Nurburgring. A few photos that leaked recently hinted at dual-tone alloys and similar red accents like other ‘N’ models.
This is the first all-electric Mini crossover. The car is based on a completely new architecture and promises to use leather-free materials. It also integrates upholstery surfaces and textiles made from recycled materials. The car will also feature innovative interactive technology and a multi-screen infotainment system. Originally revealed last year, we are finally going to see what it looks like in the real world.
MG’s first all-electric convertible sports car will be seen in motion for the first time. The car is said to have two variants with a 308bhp basic version and a 539bhp high-performance variant. The base version is said to have a range of 531km and a 0-100kmph time of under five seconds.
The Mission X slots in the same class that the Carrera GT and the 918 Spyder were in. A 1500bhp hypercar that will redefine Porsches as we know them. Porsche has clear goals for this one. First is to set the fastest lap time of the Nordschleife for a road-legal car, generate ‘significantly more’ downforce than the current 911 GT3 RS, charge twice as quickly as a Taycan S and produce 1bhp per kilo. This is possibly one of the most interesting cars at the event.
Another Porsche on the list is from the renowned resto-mod brand, Singer. Singer has made a name for itself making beautiful Porsches even more beautiful. This time, they have taken a Porsche 935 and made two different versions – one for the road and one for the track. The track-focused model comes with a bigger front splitter and an adjustable rear wing. The engine is a 3.8-litre flat-six, with twin turbochargers. The power is claimed to be over 690bhp but will vary as per customer demands.
