After an extensive teasing campaign, we finally get to see the production version of the Mahindra Thar Roxx in person. At the launch, only prices of the base variant were revealed however we expect all variant prices to be out soon. The unveiling event itself was a grand spectacle, with the likes of Farhan Akhtar gracing the occasion with a ‘rocking’ performance. After which the vehicle finally came to the stage. While we already know how it looks, here are more details we now know of.

Mahindra Thar Roxx exterior

Up front, the grille design is changed and is now known as the ‘six-pack’ grille. Just above that is the Mahindra logo carved into the metal, instead of a regular logo badge. The headlight unit is new which includes the C-shaped DRLs and LED projectors. The next major difference is on the side, where two more doors have been added. The door handle is vertically placed next to the rear window and above the rear door is, what the designers call, a ‘ridge’. Visually, it is an additional few centimetres of body coloured extension before the contrast black roof begins. The wheels shown on the car here were 19-inch alloys with AT tyres. Among the biggest changes is moving from the plastic roof to a metal one. The rear gets the familiar twin tailgate treatment and the rear LED lights are C-shaped as well.

The showcased Thar Roxx gets a beige interior

Inside, the first thing is the addition of a grab handle on both the rows for easier ingress and egress. The centre screen is a 10.25-inch unit with soft-touch materials on the dash around it. The door pads are a dual-tone theme and the seats are beige perforated leatherette. The second row seats are bench style. It also gets a push button start, rear AC vents, panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, wireless charging, automatic climate control, 360-degree camera, and cooled front seats. The rear seats are also reclinable. The sound system is from Harmon Kardon with a subwoofer. Smaller but significant changes from the Thar 3-door include a dead pedal and a remote opening for fuel filler cap.

Thar Roxx now comes with a metal roof and panoramic sunroof
