Tata Nexon EV Max launched, prices start from Rs 17.74 lakh

The Nexon EV Max gets a larger battery pack, produces more power, and receives additional equipment over the regular Nexon EV

Nexon EV Max — that might sound a little ‘meme-y’, but that’s the name of Tata Motors’ latest addition to the Nexon EV lineup, which has just been launched with prices starting from Rs 17.74 lakh (ex-showroom). The Tata Nexon EV Max has arrived just days after the reveal of the Avinya electric concept car, further strengthening its electric vehicle lineup, which also consists of the Tigor EV.

What’s ‘Max’ about the Tata Nexon EV Max?

The Nexon EV Max receives a 7.2kW AC fast charger

To begin with, the Nexon EV Max is now powered by a larger 105kWh electric motor which produces 141bhp and 250Nm of torque (14bhp and 5Nm more than the regular model. It is also faster than the standard Nexon EV, completing a 0-100kmph run in just 9 seconds. In place of the standard Nexon EV’s 30.2kWh battery pack comes a larger 40.5kWh unit, giving it an ARAI-claimed range of 437km, which is 125km more than the standard Nexon EV. The Nexon EV Max receives two charging options — a 3.3kW wallbox charger, and a 7.2kW AC fast charger, the latter of which will juice up the battery in 6.5 hours for a full charge. The larger battery pack also supports upto 50kW of DC fast charging, which will take 56 minutes to charge the Nexon EV Max from 0 to 80 per cent.

The control knob has been revamped and now gets a screen

The exteriors of the Nexon EV Max remain largely the same, but it gets an exclusive Intensi-Teal paint scheme, along with Daytona Grey and Pristine White. The interiors too remain identical, with the exception of a revamped control knob and Markana beige interiors. The Nexon EV Max is being offered in two trims — the XZ+ , and the XZ+ Lux. Some of the features standard across both trims include three driving modes, wireless smartphone charging, cruise control, ESP, electronic parking brake with auto-hold, and smartwatch integration. The interesting bit is the Multi-mode regen which will allow you to adjust the level of regenerative braking upto four different levels. The multi-mode regen also enables automatic brake lamps to warn other road users of your presence.

The XZ+ Lux additionally receives leatherette front ventilated seats, powered sunroof, an auto-dimming IRVM, and an air purifier.

Tata Nexon EV Max Variants and Prices

Prices for the Tata Nexon EV Max begin from Rs 17.74 lakh for the base XZ+ variant with the 3.3kW charger, and listed below are prices for the rest of the variants:

Nexon EV Max XZ+ (7.2kW AC Fast charging) — Rs 18.24 lakh

Nexon EV Max XZ+ Lux (3.3kW charging) — Rs 18.74 lakh

Nexon EV Max XZ+ Lux (7.2 kW AC Fast charging) — Rs 19.24 lakh
