Fists of Fury! It’s an apt description of the mighty new Porsche 911 GT3 that is vaporising its tyres on the cover of the June issue of evo India. Forged in the Porsche Motorsport foundry, this is the first road going 911 with double wishbone front suspension and along with massive new aero aids and a warmed over 4-litre flat-six it transforms the GT3. Is it the best sports car in the world right now? Check out the cover story of the June issue of evo India.

This issue is delayed, our apologies for it, but we had to wait for lockdowns to lift so we could review and include all the important new cars. We have the new Skoda Octavia and the big question we are asking is if it can end our obsession for SUVs - for that we took the Tucson along for the test.

The GLA is a very important new car for Mercedes-Benz but can it outclass the first of this breed of compact luxury SUVs, the BMW X1? The June issue has an exclusive comparison, and we also bring along the Mini Countryman which is no longer a left-field option!

Which is the best BMW 3 Series in the country right now? We brought along the regular wheelbase 320d, long wheelbase 330i Gran Limousine, and the fastest car made in India, the M340i together for one mega drive

Plenty more in the June issue including a GT3 and M4-driving doctor who is in love with his Mahindra Thar. A drive down the leopard trail in Gurgaon with a Nissan Magnite owner. Porsche 911 GT3

Everything that we loved about the 991.2 GT3 has been dialled up a notch on the 992 GT3. In fact, we’re worried Porsche has dialled things up to RS levels. The double wishbone front suspension, swan-neck rear wing and the rear diffuser have been taken from the RSR racer while the engine is built on the same production line as the race motor! Is it evolution or revolution?

New Skoda Octavia vs an SUV

The new Octavia enters a segment which has seen next to no action thanks to the onslaught of SUVs. With no real rivals save for the Hyundai Elantra, the big question we are asking of the Octavia is whether it can temper our craze for SUVs. And for that we bring along the best SUV from the Rs 20-30 lakh price bracket, the Hyundai Tucson.

Mercedes-Benz GLA vs BMW X1 & Mini Countryman

Unlike the past the new GLA now takes inspiration from its bigger brother SUVs in terms of styling, interior packaging, equipment levels and most importantly driving sophistication. Can it move the goal posts? We pit it against the BMW X1 and the Mini Countryman Cooper S JCW Inspired to find out

BMW 3 Series group test

What a great time to be a 3 Series fan! The G20 3 Series has a number of variants in India – the 320d is the starting point; if you want more luxury you have the long wheelbase 330Li and if performance is what you seek, the M340i is the way to go. Which 3 Series should you be splurging your money on?

Living With The Thar

Over the course of our Early Adopters series, we’ve established that the Thar can be a daily driver but this month we meet a GT3 and M4 Competition-owning enthusiast, a doctor working on the front lines of the pandemic, who has bought the Thar to fuel his passion for road trips.

Magnite First Movers

When the Nissan Magnite was launched, we wondered if it could be a game changer for the brand in India. Six months down the line, with steady sales and a lot of happy owners, it looks like the Magnite is a success. Karan heads out on a leisurely drive with a proud Magnite owner and learns about their ownership experiences.

Great Driving Roads

The Mahabaleshwar-Panchgani belt is not only famous for strawberries, but is also a driving enthusiast’s delight, thanks to the exciting twisties and picturesque scenery the Western Ghats have to offer. Aatish drives our long-term Hyundai Tucson to these hills and satiates his hunger for the thrills.

The New Volkswagen

Volkswagen has undergone a thorough transformation within – the brand introduced a new flatter and cleaner logo, its sales platforms were digitised and its sales and service teams underwent training to become digitally well versed - all with an aim of making the premium brand more accessible. We discover what the New Volkswagen is all about.

Maybach around the ‘Ring

With the GLS Maybach making waves we pull out an outrageous story from the archives where we took something the size of a bungalow around the Nurburgring. Yes, the nearly six-metre long, 542bhp Maybach 62 was once taken away from its natural habitat and blasted around the ‘Ring.

Icon: CLK 63 AMG

On the other side of the Mercedes spectrum we go nuts behind the wheel of the 6.3-litre, 500bhp CLK 63 AMG Black Series, one of the purest and the most thrilling AMGs ever made, and unlikely to be ever eclipsed in the future.

TUNED

N1 Concepts' air suspension is a great way to give your suspension an overhaul, while giving it a great stance. Meanwhile, an IS38 turbo equipped Polo GTI, one of the fastest in the country, and a tuned diesel Skoda Rapid feature in the Tuned section this month.

Fast Bikes Section

The BMW F 900 XR is the latest middleweight sports tourer to arrive at our shores and it straddles the line between a sports tourer and an ADV. It has no real competition though the Triumph Tiger 900 GT comes close. We bring them both together for a thrilling head-to-head comparison test. Also in this issue is a tyre test – we test all the block pattern tyres available on the Royal Enfield Classic 350. We also bring our resident stunt rider’s musings from Unroad Maharashtra 2021, a hardcore off-road outing astride the Royal Enfield Himalayan in remote areas of the Sahyadris. We top it off with a thrilling note as we go behind the scenes with TVS Racing, understanding all the backstage hustle that goes into making the RR310 Cup a success.
