In one fell swoop, Porsche has launched two cars together — the facelifted Macan SUV and the Taycan electric sedan in India today. The Porsche Macan facelift was unveiled internationally earlier this year and the brand was quick to get it to our shores. The luxury midsize SUV will be offered in three different variants with prices starting at Rs 83.21 lakh.

What’s new on the Porsche Macan facelift?

To start with, a few styling changes — the front apron has been redesigned and now features a new spoiler with blacked-out elements. The rear receives the same treatment and sports a blacked—out diffuser. The colour palette includes 14 options for you to choose from. While the previous model was available with 18-inchers, you now get 19-inch wheels as standard on the base Macan, with an option of upgrading to 20-inch and 21-inch wheels. The latter wheel sizes are standard on the S and the GTS. The all-LED headlights are equipped with Porsche Dynamic Lighting System

The centre console has been redesigned and touch surfaces now replace conventional buttons

There are changes on the inside too — the centre console has been redesigned and the conventional buttons have now been replaced by touch sensitive panels. The gear lever is shorter now by 15mm. The 10.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system has been retained, which is equipped with Porsche Communication Management along with voice commands, optional parking assist, adaptive cruise control, navigation, online music streaming, off-road modes and wireless charging. Additionally, all three variants of the Porsche Macan facelift receive all-wheel drive and Porsche Traction Management.

All models of the facelifted Macan continue to get the eight-step adjustable comfort seats upholstered in leatherette. The S receives adaptive dampers and Porsche Active Suspension Management as standard. The GTS variant is also equipped with PASM, and additionally receives an air suspension (optional on the base Macan and the S), eight-step adjustable heated sport seats with leather and RaceTex upholstery as standard. All variants receive an option to upgrade to 14-step adjustable comfort seats or 18-step adjustable sport seats. The GTS variant also receives an optional GTS Sport package which adds Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus, 18-step adjustable sport seats, Pirelli P-Zero Corsa performance tyres, a carbon interior package, RaceTex equipment, and a Python Green colour among others.

Porsche Macan facelift Powertrains

Underneath this hood lies a 2.9-litre twin turbo packing a monstrous 434bhp and 550Nm of torque

The Porsche Macan facelift receives two newly developed powertrains — a 2-litre inline four-cylinder turbo-petrol that powers the base Macan, and a 2.9-litre V6 twin-turbo unit that is shared with the Macan S and the Macan GTS. It is important to note that the GTS has taken over the mantle from the Turbo as the flagship of the Macan lineup globally.

The 2-litre inline turbo-petrol powering the base Macan produces 261bhp and 400Nm of torque which is 30Nm more than the outgoing model. It reaches triple digit speeds in 6.2 seconds and maxing out at 232kmph.

The 2.9-litre twin-turbo in the S and the GTS produce varying power outputs — the S produces 27bhp more than its predecessor at 375bhp, while putting out 520Nm of torque. It completes a 0-100kmph run in just 4.7 seconds and maxing out at 259kmph.

Being the flagship, the GTS produces the maximum power and torque outputs at 434bhp and 550Nm of torque, and reaches a top speed of 272kmph, and nailing a 0-100kmph run in a lightning quick 4.5 seconds. Opting for the Sports Chrono package will further reduce this gap to 4.3 seconds.
